Laurier Students’ Public Interest Research Group

Laurier Students’ Public Interest Research Group (LSPIRG) is a registered non-profit organization that helps to develop advocacy tools and avenues for action. Our vision is to act as a reliable support to student and community members building and sustaining movements that tear down systems of violence and replace them with equitable and just communities. We stand for anti-oppression, community care and activism.

Our Research and Action Groups include advocacy focused on food justice and food sovereignty, consent culture, climate justice and racial justice. Some of our most significant campaigns include, Know the Land, I am Not a Costume, and Menstrual Equity.

Working with Wilfrid Laurier University students and community members, LSPIRG has been operating on the Waterloo campus since 2005 and opened our Brantford office in 2016. LSPIRG offices and work is situated on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishnawbe and Attawandaron peoples.
